“Instead of asking why me, start asking to try me.”

Why me? A million-dollar question

Why Me?

Why Me? The Question we ask always.

  • It might sound so easy to say this. But there are certain situations in life that make us question, why me.
  • It almost feels like every time all the misfortune only befalls on you.
  • You might feel that the darkness is your life is never-ending.
  • And you can never become happy again and all you have to do is endure a lifetime of misery. But trust me when I say this, you are not the only one who is thinking this way.

Life is never a path covered with rose petals. If today you are enjoying the sunshine, you have to ensure stormy nights too.

Again, these storms can never be the ultimate reality of your life. They cannot define who you really are. That can, however, alter the person you are. Just as Murakami says, “And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over.

But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.” This is how life shapes us as the person we become.

Going through the darkness of the new moon is necessary to appreciate the light that the tiny stars can shower upon us. But you might think that saying all of these can be really easy whereas the following is more difficult.

When something too negative happens in your life, it can be the death of a loved one, loss of valuables, money or job, failure in achieving something that you have worked for, diseases and so on, it feels like you are consumed by darkness.

And then you feel helpless, at the bottomless pit where you can see no sign of light. In a situation like this, the only thing that comes in mind is the question, “why me.”

Why You Ask “Why Me”

In a situation that is challenging, you generally tend to feel more helpless. You feel that you have nothing to hold on to. You don’t see any ray of hope that can actually inspire you to move on with your life and that is what makes you ask this question. So, if you are thinking of this question, again and again, you also need to know how you can soothe your tired weary soul that is already done dealing with so many challenges that life has thrown at you.

How to Change the Question “Why Me” – #1

As true as it is, everyone’s life is not the same. All the journeys are not supposed to be similar either. When there are certain situations, where you are dealing with a lot, maybe your friends are having it comparatively easy in life or so you are thinking.

So, when you are thinking that life is too difficult for you as you might have been dealing with health issues, your seemingly fine friend is probably not letting you know that he or she is fighting with clinical depression which is taking a toll on their mental health.

So, the first and foremost thing that you need to focus on in this case is to change your perspective. You are not the only one who is suffering in this world. Maybe people around you are not treading the same path, yet they are fighting their own battles and maybe they are also asking the same question, “why me.”

How to Change the Question “Why Me” – #2

Our life always has a purpose. You might or might not be aware of it. No problem with that. The universe is always working on your behalf. .It is trying to pull you on the way, just on the right track where you are supposed to be.

In the journey called life, we all need to go through certain challenges, trials and tests. These break us, mold us and finally shape us for better. So, maybe the lesson you are learning from the current difficulties of your life, you wouldn’t have learned them unless you were pushed to face these difficulties.

And that is the reason why the universe has taken this responsibility upon itself. It has made you think in different ways, taught you to endure more, changed your beliefs and has made you realize what you are worthy of. And that is the reason why this present darkness is worth it. Maybe you are too highly strung right now with emotions. But once the waves of remorse subside, you will realize how important this journey through darkness was for you.

How to Change the Question “Why Me” – #3

Getting clarity is the only important thing in life for you. And when you are not put through challenges, you will never realize how much clarity you need. And that is the reason why you are going through the fire. Often we start walking on the path of life with certain prejudices in mind.

We start believing in all our preconceived notions that make us count on certain results that might not be real. But when you are put through the challenge, all these patterns and belief systems that are full of prejudices will be completely uprooted and in place of them, you will find profound clarity in life. Spiritually and emotionally, this clarity will contribute to your growth and in the journey to become greater than your circumstances.

The Journey from “Why Me” to “Why Not”

Change or metamorphosis is always in our hands or rather our mind. It is always about how you are choosing to see it. If you keep dwelling in remorse and sorrow and keep thinking how difficult it is for you to keep up with life, then ‘why me” is the only question that will keep on coming in your life.

But when you choose to have a different perspective, things will start making sense to you. You will be able to derive hindsight why something happened in your life in a particular way and how much it has altered you for better.

And once you get accustomed to this new perspective, there won’t be any stopping for you. You will never get tired of the curve balls that life keeps throwing at you. And instead, you will start asking, “why not” so that you can start to learn more and grow more by embracing those challenges.

So, in the end, there is only one thing you need to believe in. The universe is always on your side. It is always working on your behalf even when you don’t notice or realize. So, hold on to faith because, to find the ray of hope, only faith can help you.
